ARC: Cartel King, by Carmen Rosales

ARC Review: this book was a little different than what I normally read.

we had one girl, and two brothers... who both want her. we get raw, passion, mexican culture, dark cartel energy, the vibes. but this is my first book reading a MFM with brothers- so it was definitely interesting. initially i thought she would only choose one, but i stepped into her shoes- and realized, being that they both give her different things, how it could have been hard to choose only one.

length-wise, it was a short read. i do wish it was longer to give more depth to the characters, and the build-up that leads to the end, and a little more backstory with the cartel stuff (i'm obsessed with anything that ties crime and romance together- it's the perfect storm.) but overall i did enjoy this book and looking forward to reading more from this author!

carmen rosales did well with the story telling and getting you invested on what was going to happen next. in the beginning i definitely did not like Santi because of how he was acting, but after we learn the reasoning behind it- man, i felt sooooo sorry for him. Max was so sweet and romantic, but still had the street edge to him, which i think is what Elena needed. buttttt i can see how the ruthlessness in Santi was attractive and also made her gravitate towards him (in addition to the fact that he's her best friend.)

again, loved this read! excited to see what's in store for Book 2 🩷
