God of War, by Rina Kent

Book 6 in the Legacy of Gods series is finally here, and I'm in LOVE!

Ava and Eli are perfect together- the perfect storm if you will.

Ending the series with these two, in my opinion, was perfectly done- especially considering we started the "Rinaverse" with Aiden's story (Eli's dad.)

This book isn't as dark as previous books in the series, but I definitely think it's one of the more emotional books. There are a lot of subjects that may be sensitive to some readers; I enjoyed reading them because it added to the characters individually, as well as their dynamic together.

I do wish we got to see a little bit more of that darker edge to Eli that was hinted at in books 1-5, but I do like how, as this book progressed, we got to see the softer side of him, and really understand why he was doing what he did.

*I read a few reviews, after finishing- and some people were up in arms about how cold he was acting at times with Ava, but coming from someone who has personally dealt with family members on both sides, experiencing this- sometimes you have to be distant or appear "cold" so as not to set them off or trigger something else. And triggers can vary from very minute things to extremely large scale things. I personally think Eli did what his heart felt was best... as sometimes that's all you can do, when you're standing in front of someone you love.*

I'm glad this ended on a HEA, because I was definitely on edge thinking it wouldn't.

That being said- I'm sad that this is the end of the LoG series, but I'm excited for what's to come next. (Dark hockey romance? Yes, PLEASE.)
